Journal of Health (JoH) (p-ISSN 2355-8857 | e-ISSN 2407-6376) publishes research articles, conceptual articles, reports field studies (See Focus and Scope). The articles of this journal are published every six months, that is on January and July (2 issues per year), and published by the Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat STIKES Guna Bangsa Yogyakarta Indonesia. Journal of Health (JoH) is a semiannual journal, published in July and January, first publication is in 2014. The journal contents are managed by the health analyst (medical of laboratory technology) study program/department, midwifery department, nursing department, technology of blood transfusion department, and technology of radiodiagnostic, STIKES Guna Bangsa Yogyakarta. The objective of the journal is to provide a forum for lecturers, researchers, students, and practitioners to present their ideas, concepts, and new theories in health and to disseminate theory, research, and teaching reviews to the academic community of health studies in Indonesia and abroad. Journal of health presents articles based on research in the study of health. Abstract

Background: The number of people in Indonesia led to increased food needs have also increased. This causes a variety of food products appear with different variations to make it more durable, attractive and profitable. Food Additives (BTM) in everyday life has been used by the general public in making food. Since the old borax misused by manufacturers as a food additive, but is actually a function of borax used in non-food industry as a solder material, cleaning agents, wood preservatives, antiseptics, and cockroach control. One of the suspected food is rice cake containing borax. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is borax content in vegetable rice cake that is sold in Sunmor UGM. Methods: This research is a descriptive study with qualitative laboratory tests using test paper color saffron. The sample in this study is the rice cake in Sunmor UGM. The data were analyzed descriptively and presented in tables, percentages and narrative. Results: The study identified borax on vegetable rice cake at Sunmor UGM many as 13 indicate that the samples tested did not contain borax. Conclusion: vegetable rice cake samples at the Sunmor UGM checked 100% negative containing borax.

Abstract

Objective : To find out the correlation between achievement motivation and student’s study achievement at D3 midwifery Spesific Program of STIKes Dharma Husada Bandung. Method : This study used analytical descriptive method with cross sectional approach. Data were gathered by using questionnaires given to the 2nd semester students. While the student’s study achievement were gained through documentation study of their KHS, Study Achievement Card. Result : The study shows the high motivation level 93 (71%), midle 38 (29%), low and very low are 0 (0%). Study achievement excellent with reward 20 (15,3%), very satisfaction 85 (64,9%), satisfaction 25 (19,1%), and need improvement 1 (0,8%).

Abstract

Background : The maternal mortality rate in Indonesia was high and the effort required to reduce maternal mortality - an effort that is associated with pregnancy, parturition and postpartum. One solution is through the study of pregnant women. Class of pregnant woman is a means to learn together about the health of pregnant woman , in the form of face-to -face in a group that aims to improve the mother’s knowledge and skill about pregnancy and prenatal care, postpartum care, newborn care, myths, infectious diseases and a birth certificate. Objective : To be known the mother’s Knowledge Level about the material class of pregnant women, class of pregnant women definition, Pregnancy, parturition, Postpartum and postpartum family planning, newborn care and infectious diseases at the health center district Tegalrejo Magelang . Methods : This study used a descriptive study using a cross - sectional approach. The sampling method in this study was the sample saturated with the number of samples in this study were 30 respondents. The research instrument is enclosed questionnaire filled in by the respondent. The analysis used in this study using univariate analysis. Results : Pregnant woman in the region Tegalrejo health center, Magelang regency in 2013 mostly had a good knowledge amounted to 86.7 % and enough knowledge about the class material amounted to 13.3 %. Conclusion : Mother’s level of knowledge about pregnant woman class in Tegalrejo health centers Magelang regency can be categorized good knowledge of as many as 26 respondents ( 86.7 % ).

Abstract

Background: Diarrhea is still a major health problem in Indonesia. This is due to the lack of knowledge about society hygiene and sanitation as well as there are still many people who haven't got health access. Guava (Psidium guajava) is a plant that has long been known by locals as traditional medicine. Some research has shown that extracts of the guava flesh is effective as an antidiarrheal. In addition, guava possessed efficacy as an anti-inflammatory, anti-mutagenic, anti-microbial and analgesic. Objective: To determine the effect of various concentrations of guava infusion leaves inhibiting E. coli growth in vitro. Methods: Third, fourth and fifth leaf from the tip were used as the materials. Leaves infusion concentration used was 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% and 100%. Each concentration infusion loaded into wells of Mueller-Hinton (MH) agar media. Radical zone around the wells measured as bacterial growth inhibition. The data were analyzed using one way analysis of variance (One-way ANOVAs). Results: There is the influence of infusion of guava leaves (Psidium guajava) on the growth of E. coli in vitro with a mean diameter of the smallest concentration of radicals zone which is 20% of 15.3 mm and the greatest concentration of 100% by 22 mm. Conclusion: Infusion of guava leaves have a strong influence in inhibiting E. coli growth as it has antibacterial chemical components.

Abstract

Background: Preservative can block or slow process of fermentation, acidity and analyzes that cause by microbe. Sodium benzoate is one of organic preservative that easy to dissolve and usually additional with various of ingredients like sauce. Sauce is a fluid that can make food tasty. Sauce can be lasting if add by sodium benzoate. Sodium benzoate as preservative can be dangerous for healthy if out maximum level, and that interested research sodium benzoate. The research purpose to know about sodium benzoate and then determine content level existence on samples of sauce bottle on Beringharjo market in Yogyakarta. Research methods: The research describe sodium benzoate exiztence on sauce and than determine sodium benzoate level on saos. The research object sodium benzoate. Statistical variable in this research is one variable that is the existence and level of sodium benzoate on samples. Method that used for analyzed sodium benzoate in this case is base-acid titration in alkalimetry with two test that is qualitative test and quantitative test. This data is set out in table. Result: The research result by samples is 100% contain sodium benzoate and preservative with high level or out of maksimum level that has been certained and did not fulfill the terms of regulation BPOM Nomor 36 Tahun 2013 is 41,70%. Conclusion: there is sodium benzoate preservative on samples of sauce bottle on Beringharjo market in Yogyakarta with level maximum 7.001,61 mg/kg and level minimun 420,175 mg/kg

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease caused byMycobacterium tuberculosis that can invade the lungs as a primary infection which is a major health problem in developing countries. The purpose of this study to identification Acid Resistant Bacteria in patients with symptoms of tuberculosis in the region Ngronggot health center, district Nganjuk. This type of study was a descriptive study. The sample in this study is the sputum of patients with suspected tuberculosis. The study was conducted in district health centers Nganjuk Ngronggot on May 14 to June 30, 2012 were 116 patients with symptoms of cough for more than three weeks and gained 7.76% or 9 people who suffer from tuberculosis with positive sputum smear examination. And the obtained results of 92.24% or 107 people with negative sputum smear examination.

Abstract

Background : Breastfeeding (ASI) is the most suitable food for infants as well as having the highest scores compared to baby food made of human or animal milk such as cow's milk, and others. Maternal knowledge is not only influenced by the educational level of the mother but also the mother obtained resources from the external environment, especially the role of mass media in providing information. Information presented mass media affect the information that is exclusive breastfeeding or formula milk advertisements currently being intensively carried out by the milk producers. Objective : Knowing the relationship between knowledge about the behavior of exclusive breastfeeding with exclusive breastfeeding in mothers. Method : This study is an observational study with this type, using a cross-sectional design. The number of samples in this study were 58 respondents. Results : Most respondents had sufficient knowledge and most of the respondents did not breastfeed exclusively . There is a relationship between knowledge about the behavior of exclusive breastfeeding with exclusive breastfeeding in mothers in the Work Area Health Center Tegalrejo Tegalrejo District of Magelang regency with p value of 0.000. Conclusions : There is a relationship between knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding with exclusive breastfeeding behavior.
